FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Why doesn’t my filler last?Injecting filler causes trauma to the area which causes an inflammatory response. This can sometimes lead to disappointment once the swelling fully subsides 2-4 weeks post treatment. You must be realistic with what is achievable and several sessions may be needed to achieve your desired goal.
-
How long do results last? Each individual is different and longevity can often depend on your lifestyle (smoking, sunbeds etc), metabolism and genetics. It also depends what area is being treated with filler. First time clients will break down filler faster than those who have already previously had filler and built up layers. Results typically last 4-12 months.
-
Will the procedure hurt?No injectable will be completely pain free, especially in a sensitive area such as the lips. However, numbing cream is provided to help ease the discomfort. All our dermal fillers (otherwise stated/requested) contain lidocaine. A dental block is also available at an extra cost.
-
How long does it take? The appointment is a minimum of 40 minutes dependent on treatment. This includes a consultation, the completion of a medical history and consent form, numbing, carrying out the treatment and verbal aftercare advice.
-
Do I need a consultation before treatment? For any toxin treatments a consultation will need to be carried out prior to treatment, but otherwise a full consultation can be carried out within the same appointment as your treatment. The option is also available to book for a consultation and carry out treatment at a separate date.
-
How much are consultations? We offer free no-obligation consultations.
-
How many ML do you recommend getting? This can be discussed during the consultation once I have assessed your anatomy and discussed your desired look, concerns and treatment and product suitability.
-
Can I have treatments whilst pregnant or breastfeeding?Unfortunately not, as it is unethical to test on pregnant or breastfeeding women so the risks are unknown. I also advise waiting until at least 4 week postpartum as hormones are still unstable and the body produces lots of progesterone during pregnancy which causes water & sodium retention particularly in the face.
-
Will I bruise? There is always a risk with any injectable treatment as we are piercing the skin several times. It is advised you schedule your appointments accordingly if you have any upcoming events. To help with bruising arnica cream or tablets are advised (cream is available in clinic for purchase).
